The PRC Internet is exciting not just its middle-class users in China, but the legions of Chinese language speakers who access the Chinese Internet outside of the mainland. It’s sparking media interest not just in China but in the West too and there appears to be a common understanding that the Internet is an essential part of China’s modernisation and opening up to the world.
