My research will analyse the tendency of demand for energy and current situation of energy supply in China. I will describe and comment on China's energy policy and focus on various development stages from 1978 to 2008. Next to this, I will discuss China's energy challenges including the topics of sustainable energy, energy security and environment problems caused by huge fossil energy consumption, coal mining and oil extraction.
While studying the position of alternative energy in China and the dilemma of developing alternative energy, I will provide an overall analysis on the current policies of developing alternative energy in China. Taking all of the above into account, I will try to give possible answers and solutions for the future.
