AHMAD FAUZI ABDUL HAMID is Professor of Political Science, School of Distance Education, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia, and Scholar-in-Residence with the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, Oxford, United Kingdom (January-June 2021). Trained as a political scientist at the universities of Oxford, Leeds and Newcastle, United Kingdom, his research interests lie within the field of political Islam in Southeast Asia. He has published widely and has served as editor-in-chief of Kajian Malaysia: Journal of Malaysian Studies (Penang: USM Press) since 2019. He has held Visiting Fellowships with the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore (2008-2009); the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, Singapore (2015-2016); and the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur (October-December 2020).
