European Alliance for Asian Studies (EAAS) annual meeting in Athens

The European Alliance for Asian Studies (EAAS) held its annual meeting on 18–19 September at the Institute of International Relations (IDIS) headquarters in Plaka neighborhood, Athens (Greece). 

Members of the European Alliance for Asian Studies (EAAS) discussed the future of Asian Studies and Area Studies in the European context and drafted a position paper outlining constructive and forward-looking perspectives, emphasising the crucial role of Asian Studies scholars and institutes in shaping Europe’s position in today’s world. As part of the programme, participants also joined a tour of Athens that highlighted the city’s Asian presence.
