Panel at the conference: Critical Perspectives on Governance by Sustainable Development Goals
Chair: Dr Mehdi Amineh (IIAS / UvA).
Abstract
Asia is the world’s largest and most populous continent, and now constitutes its economic growth centre too. With the shift in the economic and political centre of gravity to the east, this continent’s relation to the SDGs is of eminent importance. This session will discuss the extent to which Asian governments have ‘bought in’ to the SDGs, and the main challenges faced in making progress on their realization. Attention will also be paid to the social science research agenda for SDGs in Asia.
