The Situation of Buddhism in China Today

The Program in Buddhist Studies and the Leiden Institute for Area Studies (LIAS) are happy to announce a special lecture “The Situation of Buddhism in China Today” by Venerable Master Xuecheng (学诚) from the Beijing Longquan Monastery.

The Program in Buddhist Studies and the Leiden Institute for Area Studies (LIAS) are happy to announce a special lecture “The Situation of Buddhism in China Today” by Venerable Master Xuecheng. 

The speaker is the Abbot of Beijing Longquan Monastery and President of the Buddhist Association of China, as well as being a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Ven. Xuecheng will speak in Chinese, with translation into English. The lecture will last about 1 hour, with 30 minutes for Q&A.
