Kanchivaram

Screening of the movie “Kanchivaram”, a national award winning Tamil drama about silk weavers, exploitation and the communist movement in Kanchipuram (South India) directed by Priyadarshan. The discussion afterwards will be led by Guest Speaker Dr. N. Kishor. Drinks and snacks will be served during the movie!

Dr. Nanda Kishor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations, Manipal University, India and currently Post-Doctoral Fellow at LIAS, Leiden University, Netherlands. Dr. Kishor has been working on South Asia, Indian Foreign Policy, IR theory, Conflict Resolution, Refugees and International Law, Internally Displaced Persons, and Governance. He holds a M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Hyderabad Central University (HCU), Hyderabad, India.
