Lecture
China is a large developing country, which currently experiences extremely rapid change. In recent years EU-China trade has increased, creating fertile grounds for Dutch-Chinese co-operation, both economically and politically.

This lecture deals with the way in which these economic and political relations mutually effect one another. A known example is the case of 1981, when the Dutch sold two submarines to Taiwan and caused Dutch-Chinese relations to suffer a major setback.

Wang Ping is an affiliated fellow at the International Institute for Asian Studies. She is a Graduate of Renmin University and Wuhan University. She works as an assistant researcher at the World Development Institute in Beijing, China.
