1st ANVAG Symposium organised by the ANVAG (Dutch Ayurvedic Practitioners and Physicians Association) in cooperation with the  International Institute for Asian Studies

Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems on planet earth. This system has been used in India and other Asian countries for more than 3000 years in an unbroken tradition. In the last decades interest in Ayurveda has been growing steadily, both scientifically as well as concerning practical and clinical treatment. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has formally acknowledged Ayurveda as a complete medical system.

The symposium is meant for physicians and practitioners in the field of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), as well as for regular medical professionals and anyone interested, including university students, in exploring and investigating the scope of Ayurveda. The focus of the symposium is on Ayurveda as a complete and effective clinical system, and this focus will be dealt with on the basis on a set of common modern diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, burn out syndrome and obesitas. Presentations are given by a select group of international experts.

10.30 – 11.30 – Overweight and diabetes: Dr. Victor Manhave, physician
11.30 – 12.00 - Break
12.00 – 13.00 - Burn out syndrome: Dr. Alaknanda Rao – ayurvedic physician BAMS
13.00 – 14.30 - Lunchpauze
14.30 – 15.30 – Amavata and arthritis: Dr. Vijith Sasidhar - ayurvedic physician BAMS
15.30 – 16.00 - Break
16.00 – 17.00 – Obesitas: Dr. L. Eduardo Cardona-Sanclemente, PhD, DSc. medical sciences, MSc

Official Language is Dutch, the three last lectures are in English

Regular fee: € 125
ANVAG members: € 100

For students the symposium costs 50 Euro (including a lunch)
